I have my design Philosophy and design goals, but these are separate from the company values, many of which overlap with personal my values. I share these not as marketing fluff, but to help you get to know me better, and to know what to expect when you do business with Rocky Mountain Tiny Houses

Open Communication Chances are, if you pick up the phone and call me, I’ll answer the first time. If I don’t, leave me a message and I will likely call you back within an hour. Send me an email, and I’ll reply by the end of the day. This sounds like basic business courtesy, but in todays’s overstimulated world, it seems more and more that people and businesses just don’t it. Folks are “too busy” or get distracted or have to prioritize requests or whatever it is that keeps them from getting back to you in a timely manner. As a one man shop, I admit I can get pretty busy, but I’m never so busy that I won’t get back to you the same day.
Local Partnerships I strive to get as many of my materials and services as possible from local vendors. From internet service to graphic design to sign makers to my accountant to my trailer fabricator to my window supplier to my lumberyard. Durango is a large enough economic hub that I can get just about everything I need to build Tiny Houses and run the business, but sometimes I have to look to Grand Junction, Denver, Albequerque, or beyond to source specialty parts like compact tankless water heaters, mini appliances, water tanks etc. Still, I’d say 90% of my expenses stay right here in Durango. Supporting your neighbor and community is a core value that is losing importance among new generations, but I aim to keep it going even if it does cost me an extra buck or two once in a while.
Pay it Forward I donate a portion of my income as well as volunteer some time at the Durango Community Shelter (part of the Colorado branch of Volunteers of America). Their mission is to feed and shelter people of the Durango community who for whatever reason have no home. They also work to get these folks back on their feet and improve their situation. As someone who feels incredibly blessed with all that I’ve been given in life, it’s the least I can do to return some of the karma back into world.
